I love Lifefactory water bottles. I think drinkng out of glass can't be beat. These have a great protective silicone sleeve that is washable while the bottle is still in it. But enough about the bottle.The caps in general are great--the mouth opening is pretty wide, which makes for easy drinking for my 7-year-old daughter and my 9-year-old son. The problem is the actual flip part. It is clearly made out of different material--more flexible, softer, forms well to mouth part.But this piece has torn in two of our water bottles. When you spend $22ish per bottle, find a tear in the critical part, and have to spend $7ish to replace it, it gets to be a steep investment.I sent a message to Lifefactory via their website but never received a response. I don't know what I can use to repair the tears. Right now I use a combination of cellophane and duct tapes and it does okay, but the rigors of a boys life mean something will inevitably get wet. Very disappointing. Yet the bottles are so awesome. So I bought this separate lid--I could only find it in gray. This will be okay until my daughter's rips. Gray for a girl? Talk about tears. Maybe by then other colors will be available.

Love this bottle and goes with me everywhere and because of that I had to replace the cap. So happy I didn't have to get an entirely new bottle just because of needing a new cap!

I am very glad Lifefactory offers this top to supplement the standard one that the water bottle comes with. The seal on the cap is pretty good, not perfect but does a satisfactory job.My only caution is that it did not match the Graphite color of my water bottle. Only a few shades different, but it is noticeable. Maybe I just got one from a bad batch, but (for a semi-perfectionist like me) it is a little annoying that they don’t match.

I had bought my bottle with the straw cap. It worked great at first but after a few run ins with beach sand, it had become too scratch and couldn't get suction. This flip cap is so much easier and surprisingly leak proof!
