Now in the Phoenix area, I didn't want to heat the house up with my clothes dryer. So far, this seems to be working fine, but as some others have mentioned, the UV here can destroy plastic in record time (it turns chalky and extremely brittle). I'll report back in a year or two on how it holds up. Personally I'll be happy as long as this lasts two full seasons and very disappointed if it lasts one or less.As others noted there is a weight limit, however it only seems to be reached when placing lots of heavy items on the line. I've put an entire load of jeans and towels on the line. The cords sag a bit ominously, but seem to hold steady. I'm a bit worried that after enough use/time the sharp edges of the drilled holes in the stand-offs will fray the cords. Would have been nice if they had provided grommets or taken the time to sand blast the rough edges.On the other hand, I've placed two loads of mostly baby clothes on the line and it doesn't seem to have any issues since baby clothes are quite a bit lighter.Raising it and lowering it are another issue. I tried putting the line down once, and I could barely get it up again. The dry dusty weather here caused the slide ring to stick at every point along the pole. I haven't considered waxing or oiling the pole since that only gathers more dust, and frankly could get the clothes greasy and dirty. I've simply decided not to take it down anymore. If you're not in such an arid dusty climate it might not have this issue, but around here it would be wise to find a permanent spot.

If you are 5'2" tall like I am forget using your patio umbrella stand! I couldn't reach most of the lines! Ended up putting the stand on the ground and standing on the last step of my deck in order to reach. First thing that happened was the clothes line blew over while I was hanging clothes. A few cinder blocks to hold the stand worked. If you are short like I am and want to use an umbrella stand you could always use a hack saw and cut the pole a little shorter. We decided to make the clothes line more permanent and since we live in upstate NY we were a little concerned about using the "plastic sleeve" in the ground fearing it might not hold up so followed the manufacturers instructions reference the hole and cement but used a piece of old fence pipe slightly longer than the "sleeve" that came with the clothes line and just slightly larger in diameter than the actual clothes line pole. We also dug the hole a little deeper than suggested.It took one bag of rocks and one bag of quick setting cement. We kept the pipe right at ground level. A fence post cap works great to keep grass and other stuff out of the inground pole and still allows for mowing. After a couple of days of letting the cement dry we are in business! I find that when raising the clothes line I have to be careful since there is not much space at the bottom of the actual clothes line pole to hold onto when raising it. I will have to tighten the lines soon as mentioned in the instructions. Looking back I wish I had gotten a larger clothes line since there is just barely enough space to hang a set of double and queen size sheets but it will easily hold 2-3 loads of regular wash. Over all a good product at a good price and I do recommend this to others.

I've hardly used my dryer since we installed this in the backyard a few months ago.Cementing the "plastic ground sleeve" into the ground was a bit of a pain, but I'm glad we did. It comes with a plastic tube with a cap so it doesn't fill with water when not in use. So when I don't have laundry hanging I take down the thing ( it easily comes apart into 2 pieces), and it fits in my tiny backyard shed. So it is efficient, and isn't an eyesore when it's not in use. Very happy with my purchase.

I am still having issues with line slack. The whole assembly now looks like a rectangle rather than square. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can tighten the line so that all four sides are equal in width ?????I was so thrilled to receive my outdoor clothes line. I used one for about 10 years back in the 1960s. I am having issues with the line slacking considerably after a few uses. I do not remember ever having this issue in the 60s. I have received some suggestions on how to tighten the line and will work on that. I tightened the line and as you can see from the photo, there was a lot of slack in the line and I have only used the line about 8 times and never filled the line so I am at a loss to know why the line slacked so much

This was easy to use but I am concerned about the quality of the rack. I had a similar one for 20 years but this one is not made as well. The lines are lighter weight and there is no protection for the line when threaded through the aluminium arms. Hopefully it will last but I have my doubts. Time Will tell.

This was so easy to install! I love the easy setup and tear down and it spins for easy loading.It has lots of room for a family of three. I had more room than I needed and that's with doing sheets and towels as well as clothes.
